I haven't had much time for kitsuke, so finally today I made time for it. I dressed in my cream awase tsukesage. It is definitely Autumn in England, so decided to dress appropriately. This is probably my most expensive kimono and the most age-appropriate one for me that I own. I feel very elegant in this one. As always, I have a problem somewhere in dressing myself. Today it was the date eri to sit straight. And everytime I get my hem too short. This kimono is a bit too short for me anyways, hence the short ohashori, but I think it would pass to unknowing eyes. ;) The obidome is actually a brooch made by West Midlands glass artist, Emma Dicks of Glacier.

Unfortunately, I can't help you there. The pins came with this kimono. I wouldn't suggest sewing anything to a kimono. I can tell you that these pins look like a cross between a bobby-pin and a paperclip. I'm wondering if you couldn't just find some sturdy wide wire paperclips and see if those work.
